This home study course (40 hours) enables candidates to diversify their careers and work as a nutrition and weight management advisers, working with individual clients or running weight management groups. They will investigate the important link between what people eat and their health, study the guidelines for energy intake and nutrient balance, and learn about process of digestion, the principles of effective weight management and how to help clients avoid the pitfalls of fad diets. The concept of eating for performance is introduced and some of the common supplements available today are discussed.
Candidates will be equipped with the skills required to analyse food diaries and educate members of the public about the benefits of a healthy balanced diet and how to lose weight safely and effectively through changing the way they eat.
In this distance learning module, candidates are required to work through two manuals. Assessment is an invigilated multiple choice exam at a training venue in Central London and submission of a case study

Assessment is through a theory exam and a case study which can be submitted through email.
Entry Requirements:
There are no entry requirements for this course; however, in order to gain REPs status for this course you must have a REPs recognised Fitness Instructor or Exercise to Music qualification prior to commencing this course.
