The candidate will study the theory of all treatments as well as the anatomy of the skin, hair and nails. Candidates will gain the underpinning knowledge and skills required to successfully perform treatments: skincare and eye treatments, manicure/pedicure, makeup and waxing.
Students are required to carry out case studies which form the internal part of the assessment. These are carried out throughout the year and are assessed by the tutor. The course is completed by candidates carrying out an external practical examination. There are examination papers which are completed at the end of every unit.

This award qualifies graduates to operate their own clinic or home visiting practice. Graduates can also gain employment in Beauty Salons or Spas.
Upon completion of this award, candidates can progress on to ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Treatments.
Entry Requirements:
It is recommended that candidates should have achieved a level of education equivalent to 5 GCSE's, grades A-C preferably in english and Science. However exceptions will be made for candidates with appropriate life skills.
