Adobe Photoshop (intermediate)

This course introduces candidates to Adobe Photoshop and teaches them how to create high-level graphics for a website or brochure, crop images to suit PowerPoint presentations and how to make family photos look their best.

The course will acquaint candidates with the functions and features of Photoshop, providing them with a command of the basic tools and 
techniques needed for the creation and/or preparation of digital images. The course includes compositing images and working with layers, retouching photographs and preparing images for multimedia presentations.

• Selections and Masks
• Saving, Importing and Exporting 
• Colour and Amending Colour 
• Image Editing 
• Using Layers 
• Creating Montages 
• Vector Shapes 
• File Formats

Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will be able to enhance an image by removing colour cast, compensate for flash lightning and red eyes, increase/decrease the contrast and brightness of their artwork, create simple compositions by blending images together or selecting only parts of an image, use colour in Photoshop effectively, create type and produce simple adverts and output artwork for the internet.

Entry Requirements: 

Before taking this course, you should have a basic understanding of your computer’s operating system. For example, you should know how to launch an application, create and save files, and copy files from CD and other media.
